Mentorship

Most of the children we work with via our funky readwrite clinic are from low-income farming communities with high school dropouts, yet they have dreams with no one to look up to.  Hence the need to offer mentoring for children so that they can excel and break the poverty cycle in their communities, stories like Abdul-Majeed, a Star. emphasis the key role of  mentorship.

Our mentorship program is a life long continuous initiative. For us, learning never ends, we have mentored school children in their teens and literally seen them grow into their twenties. We build trust and a strong bond with parents, teachers and students .

Key focus areas of our mentorship

  • Academic guidance
  • Leadership skills
  • Self esteem
  • Connecting students to Financial help/scholarships; we do not provide financial support but we are actively looking out for opportunities to share with our mentees.
  • A talking friend; sometimes children just need a safe space to talk and share their problems; we have had children share things with us or ask about things they are shy to ask from their teachers/parents.

Due to our small size and limited funds, we usually prefer to mentor students from the funky readwrite clinic . However if you know someone exceptionally bright but needy you can contact us. But hey, still contact us if your school, group of students/club is interested in a one-off/ series of  mentoring sessions. We love to inspire! Check out our super amazing Mentors!
